Relieving Therapists Against Discrimination’s.

There is now extensive evidence that lesbian, gay and bi-sexual people are the most likely to access some form of therapy.

Is it ethical to offer this minority group, help and support for mental/emotional issues by professionals who do not hold any experience within this field?

Is it then more ethical to offer them professional lesbian, gay or bi-sexual therapists?

With regard to this debate, it has been noted that some professionals do still hold onto un-conscious discrimination’s.

So, do training programmes need to re-evaluate there structures and implement some knowledge in relation to these discrimination stumbling blocks?

1. Heterosexism.

2. Homophobia.

3. Guilt by associations.

4. Competence.

5. Commitments.
