Exposing Community Mental Health Care Services and Access to Care for the Older Patients.

Research has shown a serious lapse in services offered to the elderly who are suffering with anxiety and depression.

Dr. Phillip Wilkinson from Oxford University states that “Trials with older people have generally been of poor methodological quality”; in comparison to evidence based treatments like cognitive behavioral Therapy (CBT) for younger adults. Dr. Wilkinson goes on to say “…there is a strong case for retaining seperate services for the older people as their clinical needs differ from that of younger adults.”
