7 Steps to Individual Development and Self Growth: To completely know your self through personal development and professional skills, can be the goal of many therapists but taking time out for personal development is not always high on our agenda’s.
All of us are capable of changing and growing and developing our potential.
“What the mind can conceive the body can achieve”
I have put together some basic points that help toward taking action and thinking positively.
1. Accept total responsibility for your own personal development and growth; No one will do it for you. What you do today will influence all of your tomorrows.
2. Allow your self some “me” time every day to do something just for yourself.
3. Learn something new everyday try to stay current in your field of expertise. The world is constantly changing. Knowledge helps us to stay in the game.
4. Expose your self to therapist coaching – Pod casts and On line conferences are a great way to educate oneself on personal and professional development and growth. (Contact Gary Graye by leaving a comment in the box below) To increase your knowledge of your therapy business - this will also optimize your visibility within the search engines like Google and MSN. Or you may wish to let Gary do it for you.
5. Do not get resentful about should’ve, would’ve or even could’ve – All we have is NOW, so make the most of it.
6. Learn from your own and the mistakes of others, we only learn by experience so view mistakes as a learning curve.
7. Reward yourself, pamper your self in some way: Give your self praise for all that you do or don’t do.
